Shit’s getting a little bit crazy right about now. First off, Good Sex, Great Prayers had its third review published over at DigBoston today courtesy of Mr. Tony McMillen (author of Nefarious Twit…which you should definitely check out). Here’s a little excerpt:
“This is Brandon Tietz’s second novel but with its confident, mostly unadorned voice, you could think it’s his fourth or fifth. Because this is knockout storytelling. It knows when to dazzle but it knows when to relent as well. When to relax and invite you back in and ultimately, it knows how to lean in for a kiss before tearing your face clean off. It’s the one of the most enjoyable and effortlessly seductive books I’ve read in quite some time.”

Next, the thread for book club went live over at LitReactor. For those of you not familiar with how book club works, it’s basically like a regular book club only you have the advantage of having the author on hand to field questions. All you need to do is start a LitReactor account (which is free) and a copy of Good Sex, Great Prayers. Discussion will officially begin in May. Any topic is fair game.
Visit the official book club thread HERE.
Finally, the release party for the book is happening soon–April 11th, to be exact. Here are the details of the event:
Part 1: Signing at Tannin Wine Bar (1526 Walnut St.) from 5-8pm
I’ll be selling signed editions for $20. Supplies are limited, so it’s better to show up close to 5:00 to ensure you get one. Another reason to get there early is because Tannin’s happy hour special will end at 6:00; up until then you can get half off apps and 25% off beers and wines by the glass. FYI: this is the only part of the night I’ll be signing/selling books. After this, any remaining stock will be put away.
Part 2: Happy Hour at Pizza Bar in the Power & Light District from 8-11pm
There will be specials on wells, beers, and apps. There will NOT be specials on shots, but shots I shall have.
Part 3: End Game at Aura (3832 Main) from 11pm-3am
I’ll be hosting with my very good friend, Mr. Rob Marrs. We’re going to get white girl wasted.
